Governor’s Task Force on the Delaware Psychiatric Center Announces Subcommittee Meetings
Dover – The Governor’s Task Force on the Delaware Psychiatric Center (DPC) has scheduled a series of upcoming subcommittee meetings, as it continues its work to review practices and recommend improvements at the DPC.
Subcommittee #4 will meet on Monday, Oct. 8 at 1:15 p.m. in the External Affairs Office of Goldey-Beacom College, located at 4701 Limestone Road in Wilmington. This group will look into the need for a new DPC facility and will review all documents that have been collected to date on this issue.
Subcommittee #1 will meet on Friday, Oct. 12 from 1 – 3 p.m. in Rm. 301 of the Main Administration Building of the Herman M. Holloway, Sr. Health and Social Services campus on Rt. 13 in New Castle. This group will review reports completed by regulatory bodies about the DPC. Specifically, it will review reports from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on Friday.
Subcommittee #2 will meet on Friday, Oct. 12 from 3 – 4:30 p.m. in Rm. 301 of the Main Administration Building of the Herman M. Holloway, Sr. Health and Social Services campus. This group will review personnel issues, hiring procedures, and professional development opportunities at the DPC. At the meeting, members plan to review organizational and overtime issues and vacancies at the facility, as well as orientation and reporting procedures.

The next meeting of the full nine-member task force is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 1:30 p.m. in Training Rooms 1 & 2 at the Springer Building on the Herman M. Holloway, Sr. Health and Social Services campus.
The Task Force on the Delaware Psychiatric Center was created by Governor Minner in August to make recommendations for suggested improvements at the facility. The Task Force recommendations are due in a report to the Governor no later than December 15, 2007. |
